Combat Arms & Anti-Cheat

However, even with Bad Apple, we feel Nexon should improve the anti-cheat capabilities of their product by adding league friendly features (such as demo and spectator support). We're not going to announce any ultimatums at this time, but we believe it's important for all Combats Arms players to contact Nexon and voice their concerns. We've already made several attempts to contact them ourselves, but it seems they need to hear it from the majority of players before they make any changes.

I heard from a person representing nexon, that Nexon will be taking out HackShield and adding in PunkBuster but like in 3 weeks.

Yea I heard they were gonna put in Punk Buster. Right now, we can;t trust any clans since the higher majority of clans hack/glitch.

The problem with using third-party solutions for anti-cheat solutions is that supplying the detection and fix for cheats is solely the job of the supplier and the company making use of their services is not allowed to tinker with the system. Nexon's hands are tied with Hackshield right now. They may know full well how to fix the problem but can do nothing without Hackshield's consent, and even then, it's up to Hackshield to make the modifications. If this PunkBuster rumor is true, it's a great move by Nexon. But I won't get excited until Nexon confirms it to be more than just a rumor. Until then, I'll move on to other titles.

Theres another problem in that some clans have been abusing the vent glitches and hacking other clan's vent and crashing it. Ventrillo has updated but a new hole has been found and is being worked on today.
I report a lot for nexon and they are working on adding punkbuster within the month. They have to change codeing and since it is a 100% free game still, with no black market, they only have 2 programmers working on the problems. I have been reporting issues, people, and sending programs in that get found and abused. They have 3 of the 6 programs fixed and are being patched tonight, but 3 sites are constantly harassing nexon by updateing and creating new hacks (fps, ghoster, and the most annoying of all OPK). Nexon is apparently now members to the known hacking program sites, and going to take advantage by updateing the codes as soon as these sites update. They want to find a way of constant update without maintence.
Until punkbuster is enabled, I would suggest a post for each week where the leader of the winning and losing team will post screenshots of all 5 members (as in the rules) and the scoreboard. Otherwise, we aren't being sure that one or both teams are playing legit (scoreboards can be edited).
